Dear all,

The proposal of this family tree a few months ago led to concerns by some regarding the privacy of those referenced here. In some cases, though welcomed into our hearts as a son or daughter, a father or mother, genealogically speaking there is a different relation between a step-parent or half-sibling from the more traditional counterpart. Further, divorce and/or remarriage or children born before marriage, are seldom topics spoken of freely.

In response to those who may carry these concerns I lay down no defense. I merely ask for your understanding. My hope, here, is to give something to those I consider "family". This tree, I hope, implies no judgments or opinions or anything that may divide, but rather illustrates the ways we are connected, both to each other and to the world around us. I enjoy the notion that a forum such as this may initiate an exchange of information about our shared heritage and, as a result, strengthen the bonds of family into the future.

I will monitor my email regarding these issues to understand the general response of these family trees. Should they be overwhelmingly negative, despite my reservations, I will respect your concerns and remove them from this website.
